No New Posts &&-- in.the.pastures

These pastures are lush and green all year round. They are immaculately tidy and any holes that appear are immediately filled in. If a horse can injure itself in THESE pastures, it will injure itself anywhere. The shelters in the pastures are magnificent brick ensembles with kick-boards around the three walls and foundations three metres deep. They sure won't blow down easy.

No New Posts &&-- outdoor.jumps.arena

The jumps in this arena are not the magnificent pieces of art in the indoor arena, but they are sturdy and workable, and probably better for the beginning horse or rider. They are tidy and professional-looking and more than sufficient for outdoor training, while being sturdy enough to endure the moody Australian weather.

This arena's surface is grass and can be slippery, but closely mirrors the surface most often used for competition in the area.

All lessons are conducted in this arena, regardless of size, length, discipline or level. Its surface is the same as the dressage arena's, though it is larger and separated, like the indoor, into two sections - dressage, and jumping. The jumps in this arena are identical to those in the outdoor jumping arena unless the coach wants to train the horse and rider over more intimidating types of jump and fill, in which case some of the jumps from the indoor are brought outside. As a result, this arena is the closest to the barn.

Got a need for a small, round yard to work in? Whether you're starting a horse to saddle, working with a horse that has emotional issues, or just reinforcing the respect and bond you have with your horses, this round pen is a great tool. It does get a little slippery in the wet, but that is top of the list of 'things to do when I find the time' in the barn manager's office.

This magnificent cross country course has all types of jumps catering for all levels of horse and rider. Its surface is, of course, variable - some grass, some sand, some water and even, in wetter weather, mud. It is a challenging but inviting course designed to prepare all horses and riders for the surprises encountered in competition.

There are miles and miles of trails on the enormous property that is Kookaburra Park, lined with native Australian woodland. Some trails are easier to navigate than others, and they are all of different lengths. Some have lovely long, clear stretches of safe ground for galloping, others are to be navigated only at walk or trot.

These trails are the envy of the region and are what sets Kookaburra Park apart from all other stables.
